You are invited to an All Saints’ Choral Evensong on Saturday, November 2 at 5:00 p.m.at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 258 Concord St in Newton Lower Falls. The St. Mary’s Choir will be remembering our beloved choir member, Jane Sabin, and all faithful departed as we celebrate the Feast of All Saints.
The service of Choral Evensong originated in 1549 with the first Book of Common Prayer for the Anglican Church. Composers have written settings of this liturgy and choirs throughout the world sing it regularly in cathedrals, churches and chapels.
In addition to readings, prayers, and the traditional Evensong canticles, the service will include Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, sung by the St. Mary’s Choir accompanied by harp, strings and organ.
Please come and experience the serene beauty of this music as we remember loved ones who are no longer with us. All are welcome to attend free of charge. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
