Kirsten Johnson, Director of Music
Kirsten Johnson has been the director of music at St. Mary’s since 1992. She completed her undergraduate degree at St. Olaf College in Northfield Minnesota and her graduate degree from the Institute of Sacred Music at Yale. At St. Mary’s, Kirsten is both organist and choir director coordinating both adult and youth choirs. Away from St. Mary’s, Kirsten teaches young people through the Music Together program. Denise Flanagan, Parish Administrator
Denise has worked at St. Mary’s since 1992. As the parish administrator, Denise coordinates publications, calendars and record keeping. As the primary office support for the church for nearly 20 years, Denise can answer almost any question. Denise can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shelby White, Director of Youth Ministry and Religious Education, joined the St. Mary’s community in 2015. A fourth generation Episcopalian, Shelby grew up in a little beach town north of San Diego before she moved east for college and graduate school. She met her husband in 2002, married in 2003, and had two daughters (not twins) in 2004. Shelby is a Montessori Teacher who is certified in Non-Violent Communication, Peace Education, and Godly Play. She has extensive experience in non-profit management, special education, democratic education, community outreach, and is nearly bilingual. Shelby’s family lives with two dogs in a rural community where she is a board member. In her spare time, Shelby enjoys travelling, cooking, writing, editing, and spending time with those close to her. Shelby can be reached at email@example.com.
